Punching and kicking, for health and relaxation
VietNamNet Bridge – Following instructions, a young girl in rubber gloves starts punching with both hands, aiming at a man standing opposite her in a defensive position.

At the same time an instructor, who dodges the blows as well as kicks from the girl, gives guidance by repeatedly counting one, two, three and four.
That is part of a lesson for an exercise called KickFit, which the fitness center California Wow Xperience has recently introduced to diversify the programs at the club.
The fitness center has made a point of mixing exercise with entertainment, and has turned the silent and cold martial arts of boxing into a sporting exercise for good health.
According to the center, KickFit is a combination of tradition boxing and Muay Thai, so students of the class will not only tone up their bodies but relax and be entertained while doing the exercise.
KickFit is designed to keep everyone moving around a small arena, aiming and controlling their blows and kicks so they can reach their targets accurately.
Of course, with a pair of rubber gloves over their hands and fists, and with their legs constantly moving, the students quickly understand that this is not an easy exercise, but a sweaty work-out. In return, the exercise may relieve stress and will certainly get the body into good shape.
A representative at the fitness center says that the exercise is designed to be suitable for either young or elderly and for both girls and boys, especially for girls who would like to learn some martial arts movements for self protection!
Another challenging work-out at California Wow Xperience is a group cycling class called "spinning". Some 70 bicycles have been installed for those who want to have strong hearts and burn calories. The center also has different yoga classes such as Prana Vidya, which focuses on the art of breathing and Natya Yoga, and Indian Yoga dance, to name but a few.
After exercising, club members can revitalize with a sauna and steam bath in the spa facilities, or chat with friends over a cup of coffee.
The fitness center has some 100 classes per week featuring different types of exercises from body balance to jazz dance, including personal training.
For more information about the fitness center as well as fees for each exercise, contact the California Wow Xperience Vietnam at 126 Hung Vuong Street, District 5, HCMC. Tel: (08) 222 0299.
