Thai budget airline taking bookings for Bangkok-Hanoi route (from U$25)

The budget carrier will offer the first 10,000 one-way tickets on the service at $25 and will then adjust fares slightly higher following the initial phase.

The carrier has cut down on unnecessary spending to offer competitive pricing, said a representative of Thai Air Asia.

 “Vietnam is a potential market. The airfare is affordable for people traveling from Vietnam to Thailand,” said the carrier’s chairman Tassapon Bijleveld as quoted by VietnamNet.

Thai AirAsia, a joint venture between Malaysia’s AirAsia and Thailand’s Shin Corp, is the second budget airline to fly to Vietnam, after Singapore’s Tiger Airways.

Bookings can be made at the website www.airasia.com or Thai AirAsia’s agents or rep office in Vietnam.
